How it Works

My job, aside from taking kick-ass photos, is to make sure you have a great experience from booking clear through to the very end.

 

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS:

You contact me and let me know you'd like to do a session/event/etc.

 

We decide what fits your needs the best and I email you a contract which you sign electronically. I also take a nonrefundable retainer to book your date/session.

 

We photograph your session and have an amazing time.

 

Depending on the type of session, you'll get an email from us 5-10 business days later with a link to a password protected site with your edited images. This site can be shared with family and friends and you can order images directly from the site or you can order from your favorite photo printer.

 

We'll follow up with you to make sure everything is perfect and see if you need any other assistance or guidance- like ordering prints, having an album made, etc.

 

You don't need to spend extra money on the digital files- they are all included in your package.

 

You don't need to come to my studio to pick your favorites- you get all your images.

 

The link to your photos never expires- you can come back any time to look at your photos or order prints or other goodies.

 

I make it as easy as possible for my crazy busy clients, who need things to be easy and straightforward. It's just how I roll.

questions

What time should I schedule our session?

 

Sessions can be done any time during the work week, but I find morning to be the easiest and least disruptive time for a session. Clothing and makeup is still fresh. Plus you have less time to be nervous all day!

 

Where should we do it?

 

The location of your portrait is important. It should tell the story you’re looking to tell- do you have a cool office? (then let’s show it off!) Are you community-focused? Maybe we should do it near a local landmark. We can also do a mix of indoor and outdoor, if we plan the session timing right. No idea it too “out there.” It’s worth being creative!

 

What should I wear?

 

Wear something you love and feel great in. As far as colors go, black isn’t the only go-to. Experiment with navy, grays, dark greens and teals. If you wear glasses most of the time, wear them for your headshot. We can always do some with and without, if you’d like. If you plan on wearing makeup, apply as you might for an evening out. If you only do one thing- put on mascara and/or eyeliner. It’s amazing what a little mascara and eyeliner does to make your eyes shine. Avoid wearing big stripes, plaids, checks, dots (I know, my favorite!) and other prints- they do not photograph well. Small patterns are fine, as long as they’re not too distracting. If you’re not sure, bring a few clothing options and we can talk about them. Busy ties and flashy jewelry divert attention from your smile- it’s best to stick with simple & elegant accessories and jewelry.
